Pictorial First Issue dustwrapper with 2.5" wide dustwrapper flaps (later issues have a similar wrapper but with 1-1.5" front and rear flaps). Housed in a bespoke mid green quarter Morocco clamshell box with gilt titles and raised bands. A near fine copy with bright & fresh boards & very light wear indeed. Usual foxing to edges & sporadically within text. Neat ink owner inscription dated 1911 to endpaper. The very good dustwrapper has nicking at the tip of spine & couple of very small chips to foot. Brighter spine than usual. A Rare copy.
Peter Pan introduced in 'The Little White Bird', expanded into a childrens story in 'Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens' & then enlarged and novelised in the version that we know today in 'Peter and Wendy'.
