One of 30 copies bound in full Morocco and signed by Somerset De Chair. A very good+ copy. Wear to extremities with tanning to spine & some offsetting to boards. Internally deckle edge handmade paper leaves - all in very good+ condition with no inscriptions. Map endpapers original and unsplit.
A personal account of a tiny force sent to Baghdad from Palestine to deal with the effects of the Golden Square coup and to help the Habbaniya. The operation was a success with Baghdad falling on 30th May 1941 and saved Iraq from falling into the hands of the Nazis.
